Last weekend at ECCC, there were some more books announced with Irish creators involved at Image. First up, Eisner Award-winning Jordie Bellaire takes on the writing chores and joins artist Vanesa R. del Rey to bring you Redlands. In Redlands, three witches move to Redlands, Florida and take over as law enforcement. The book will hit stands this summer.

Next up Chris O’Halloran, on colours, joins writer Ales Kot and artist André Araújo team up for an all-new series in Generation Gone. Generation Gone asks: What happens when three disenfranchised millennials who were already planning to rob a bank get superpowers? What happens when two of them are in a toxic relationship that implodes shortly after? The series also launches in the summer.

Finally, Declan Shalvey returns to writing with Philip Barrett on art and Jordie Bellaire on colours for an all-new original graphic novel titled Savage Town. Savage Town is a crime story set in Limerick City, loosely based on real events at the turn of the millennium. It follows Jimmy ‘Hardy’ Savage as he fails his way up the criminal ladder. The book will hit shops in the Autumn.

I’m a big fan of Image as a company and I’m delighted to see more creators living in Ireland working there (especially with two as writers). We’ll be talking more about these books as it gets closer to their release dates.
